Holiday Stroll Weekend



Kick off the holiday season with the Holiday Stroll Weekend, presented by the Helena Business Improvement District (BID) and Downtown Helena, Inc. (DHI).  The Holiday Stroll Weekend begins with the Parade of Lights. Stroll through Downtown Helena and enjoy the holiday decorations, caroling, the parade, and the official lighting of the historic Fire Tower. On Saturday, Holiday Stroll weekend continues with Small Business Saturday, where you will find that just right gift at one of our many downtown merchants.

Parade of Lights – November 25

The Parade of Lights is a Downtown Holiday tradition to kick off the Holiday season. The parade is co-sponsored by the Helena Business Improvement District and Downtown Helena, Inc. to gather friends and families to kick-off the holiday season with the official lighting of the world’s only downtown Firetower as the Guardian of the Gulch. Businesses, clubs, school groups, teams, non-profit organizations and individuals are encouraged to participate by entering a float, ATV’s, motorcycles, cars, trucks, boats and even lighted dogs or folks.

Prizes will be awarded to the Best of Show in following 3 categories: Float, ATV/Car/Motorcycle & Walkers

PARADE ROUTE: The parade starts at 6 p.m. and goes from Fuller Avenue to Placer, turns right onto Last Chance Gulch, proceeds through the Walking Mall past the library and Pioneer Park. The parade will end at the Lewis & Clark Library and the official lighting of the historic Firetower and awards will immediately follow.

Holiday parade supporters:

First Christian Church – For the last couple of years, this generous group has setup tables at Performance Square and handed out hot chocolate, hot coffee, hot apple cider and misc. treats (cookies, brownies, rice krispy treats, etc.).  All items are completely free.  No cost and no obligation! Stop by and say hello!
