Maintenance Coordinator - Helena Business Improvement District and Downtown Helena INC

Job Title:              Maintenance Coordinator

Reports to:           Executive Director

Salary:                  $18/$20 hr.; non-exempt

Benefits:               Downtown Parking Pass, Phone Stipend, health, dental, vision, retirement, paid holidays, PTO

Hours:                   Front line coverage twice a week (TBD), evening and weekends as needed

Position Summary: Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Maintenance Coordinator develops, directs, and maintains the organizations banner, equipment rental, holiday décor, streetscape, and graffiti removal programs within the Business Improvement District boundaries. He/She maintains and performs general cleaning of office and storage space. Aids staff and will occasionally supervise seasonal staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Continue to evaluate current programs and implementation of said programs
    • Banner
    • Equipment Rental
    • Holiday Décor
    • Streetscape
    • Graffiti
  • Supervise event staff
  • Operate small machinery
  • Maintain and repair small equipment (handyman)
  • Inventory of equipment and office supplies
  • Downtown Ambassador
  • Clean and maintain office and storage space
  • Office janitorial duties
  • Front Line
    • Assist with all program reservations including selling Downtown gift cards

Required Qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities)

  • Positive attitude and community service orientation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be willing to work outside, climb ladders, work with paint, tend to flora
  • Proven ability to work independently and with teams
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of individuals
  • Application must possess a valid Montana driver’s license
  • Flora knowledge preferred
  • Applicant must possess a desire and motivation to learn and be intricately involved in the Helena community

Events Coordinator - Helena Business Improvement District and Downtown Helena Inc

Job Title:                Events Coordinator

Reports to:             Executive Director

Salary:                    $18/$20 hr.; non-exempt; hours fluctuate dependent on event season – 35-40 hrs.

Benefits:                 Downtown Parking Pass, Phone Stipend, health, dental, vision, retirement, paid holidays, PTO

Hours:                    Front line coverage once a week, evening and weekends as needed     

 

Position Summary: Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Events Coordinator is accountable for the planning and execution of several Downtown Helena events. This includes volunteer recruitment and working with the maintenance coordinator to assure staffing and supplies is adequate for event execution. He/She will supervise event staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee development, planning, and implementation of all events:
    • Alive at Five (summer)
    • Parade of Lights (November)
    • Art Walks (Spring and Fall)
    • Kids’ Fall Fest (October)
    • Trick or Treat (Halloween)
    • Small Business Saturday (November)
    • Breakfast with Santa (Nov./Dec.)
    • Roll & Stroll (May)
  • Operate small machinery
  • Downtown Ambassador
  • Do You Know newsletter
  • Create Posters for events
  • Front Line
    • Assist with all program reservations including selling Downtown gift cards
  • Organizational communication management
    • In the Know membership newsletter the third week of the month
    • Create and distribute press releases
  • Website and social media posts
  • Salesmanship

  • Professional sales experience (sponsorships)
  • Positive attitude and community service orientation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Membership Coordinator - Helena Business Improvement District and Downtown Helena Inc

Job Title:              Membership Coordinator

Reports to:           Executive Director

Salary:                  $18/$20 hr.; non-exempt; 20-25 hrs. a week

Hours:                   Front line coverage twice a week, evening and weekends as needed       

 

Position Summary: Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Membership Coordinator is accountable for membership recruitment and retention for Downtown Helena, Inc. and will manage the benefits of membership and all membership activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct membership recruitment and retention and coordinate all membership events and programs
    • Develop and distribute membership materials
    • Cultivate relationships with prospective members and enhance relationship with current members (current membership is approx. 100)
    • Plan, execute, and communicate DHI membership meetings and committees
    • Communicate, implement, and oversee all DHI membership benefits
      • Downtown Helena gift card program
    • Provide support to annual membership dues invoicing and oversee collections and communication
  • Organizational communication management
    • In the Know membership newsletter the third week of the month
    • Create and distribute press releases
  • Downtown Ambassador
  • Front Line two (2) days a week
    • Assist with all program reservations including selling Downtown gift cards
  • Welcome new business and property owners to the district with our Welcome Packet
  • Website and social media posts
  • Salesmanship
