Russell Raschkow: Helena artist R. Raschkow presents The Disk Continued, an exhibit of hi-carbon steel metal sculpture representing birds of Montana and other animals of the world. Everything in this exhibit is created from rusty, discarded harrow disks removed from farm implements. Each piece is hand cut and forged utilizing old-school techniques of the handheld oxy/acetylene cutting torch. Various grinders and disks are used to further define and polish each work, transforming rusty harrow disks into unique works of art suitable for indoor/outdoor situations.

Russ has been a devoted visual artist since 1967 when he pinched his first clay pot at the ‘Bray. He studied art at C.R.Anderson, Capital High, U of M Missoula, holds an Associates Degree in Advertising/Design from Colorado Institute of Art, and a Bachelors Degree in Computer Aided Design MSU-Northern, Havre. Maybe you’ve seen him around town, ringin’ a bell and running circles ‘round the red kettle’ for the Salvation Army each Christmas season? Regardless, he hopes you’ll join him at the Western Bar in Helena’s Last Chance Gulch for a fun evening of eye candy and friendly banter during Downtown Helena’s Fall Art Walk.

Danielle Perrine, Rusty Wench Art:

Danielle Perrine, Rusty Wench Art: Danielle is a Helena native, who is intrigued by old, rusty, found objects that others no longer love or need. She has been known to wander miles or railroad tracks, wide open fields, and forested areas for her collection. Danielle creates charming and eclectic metal sculptures inspired by her love for animals and Montana’s beautiful landscape. She a had a strong affiliation to our planet and cares deeply about the effects of over-use, pollution, and blatant waste. Danielle utilizes various old metal tools, car parts, and curiosities to create one-of- a- kind sculptures.
