Micky Zurcher, Executive Director

Micky Zurcher is a native of Bottineau County, North Dakota. She moved to Montana in 2001 spending a decade in the hospitality industry. She obtained a Masters degree in Community Development from North Dakota State University in 2016.  Before moving to Helena, Micky’s professional experience includes a combined four years in the Cooperative Extension Service with the Montana State University and North Dakota State University. Micky enjoys traveling, hunting, hiking, golfing, and hanging out with her horse, Remington.

Cassidy Mercer, Membership and Marketing Coordinator

Originally from New York, Cassidy Mercer graduated with her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies and left behind cityscapes to move across the country to Montana with a plan to spend one year dedicated to national service as an AmeriCorps VISTA. A lot can change in a year — you might get engaged, work two jobs, take on multiple volunteer positions, and even get married — all before the year has ended! Even with all the change one year has brought, Cassidy loves the slower rhythm of her life in MT. She can usually be found at the farmer’s market, on Mt. Helena, or at one of the local coffee shops.

Her office hours will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or by appointment. Her community outreach days will be Tuesday and Thursday.

Brianna Steele, Events and Maintenance Coordinator

Bree’s passions in life are arts, crafts, and small business. She owns and operates Fox & Hare Creations, making various handcrafted items such as quilts, hand embroidered jewelry and art, bags, and many custom creations. Watching and helping other locally owned businesses grow and flourish brings her joy and drive to become better in her work. Outside of her small business, Bree enjoys hiking, going to the lakes, and traveling.

Bree’s office hours will be Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or by appointment. Her community outreach days will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Dustin Ackeret, Maintenance Assistant

Being a long time resident of Helena, Dustin has been both a worker and a patron at many downtown local businesses. He has engaged in a variety of events and opportunities that our downtown has to offer and built connections with many others who are a part of our community. An aspiring artist, he has taken up graphic design and animation, skills that he hopes to build and more readily offer to the community. In his free time, he can be found at one of many local hot spots with his tablet in hand, refining his skills and preparing to release his next composition.

Kelsie Watkins, 2019 Summer Intern

Kelsie is a native of Snohomish, Washington, brought to Helena to pursue her college degree. Kelsie is currently a junior at Carroll College with majors in communication studies and public relations with a concentration in print journalism, and a minor in gender studies. When she isn’t in class, Kelsie can be found competing in speech and debate, hiking, or exploring Helena.
