Staff

Micky Zurcher, Executive Director

Micky Zurcher is a native of Bottineau County, North Dakota. She moved to Montana in 2001 spending a decade in the hospitality industry. She obtained a Masters degree in Community Development from North Dakota State University in 2016.  Before moving to Helena, Micky’s professional experience includes a combined four years in the Cooperative Extension Service with the Montana State University and North Dakota State University. Micky enjoys traveling, hunting, hiking, golfing, and hanging out with her horse, Remington.

Carmen Schillinger, Executive Administrative Assistant

Carmen is originally from a ranch in Eastern Montana, but she has really enjoyed getting to know the Helena area since moving here. In 2015, she began teaching at a local elementary school, but recently decided to transition into the event planning industry. She is excited to lend her skills to the Downtown Helena Business Improvement District. Outside of work, Carmen enjoys exploring new places, working on various fixer-upper projects, scrapbooking her travels, and playing with her cats, Opal and Violet.

Carmen joined our team November 4, 2019 as a front line temp. We are so excited to welcome her  in 2020 as our part time Executive Administrative Assistant.

Dustin Ackeret, Maintenance Coordinator

Growing up in Helena, Dustin has spent many years being a part of the downtown Helena community. Everything from working, volunteering, to recreating. He has met a lot of wonderful people here and is excited to continue his work for the downtown community as Maintenance Coordinator. In his spare time he enjoys working on his art and exploring new mediums such as digital art and animation. He derives a great deal of inspiration from the community around him as well as from the various sites and scenes that Montana has to offer.

Dustin joined our team as a seasonal employee in the spring of 2019 and full time January 2, 2020.

 

Nick Hawksley, Events Coordinator

Nickolas spent his formative years in Great Falls, Montana before moving to Missoula to attend the University of Montana. There, he studied business between performing in garage rock bands and working at the college radio station. After graduating, Nickolas participated in a summer AmeriCorps program in Pittsburgh, PA. Upon his return to Missoula, he was offered a job with VidCon where he worked as the company expanded into international markets. Nickolas has spent the year 2019 traveling internationally, and domestically. He enjoys running, yoga, golf, skiing, hiking, fly fishing, is an avid reader, and musician, and loves a good craft beer.

Nick joined us on January 2, 2020.
